The history of "Almwelt Austria"
...a glimpse into the past of the chalet village
For generations "the Schnepfn Alm" has been a cultivated alpine area, which is looked after by our farm. In earlier times there was active alpine farming here. In the course of time more and more guests visited the Schnepfn Alm and the alpine hut was thus also rented out as a self-catering house. On the one hand, the special, unique and sunny panoramic position in the middle of the beautiful natural landscape and on the other hand the sober facts that there is own land and soil as well as enough wood, were our basic ideas for Schnepf’n Alm to make this “gem of the Alps” accessible to a wider public.
In the years 2005 to 2007 our village was built on the Reiteralm with a lot of personal effort. In December 2007 we were able to welcome the first guests in the "Almwelt Austria", with the heart of the "Schnepf‘n Alm" the cozy restaurant.
Since 2016 we have been the official external office of the municipality of Schladming, for which the unique Panorama Trauplatzl was built. In order to be perfectly equipped for weddings and all kinds of celebrations, the Schnepfn Alm was expanded in 2017 by the Panoramasaal, and in 2019 by the covered terrace.
In 2021, in addition to the new renovation of the Panorama Spa, we also decided to expand our mountain hut village with 7 exclusive premium mountain huts in 3 different categories. The Premium Chalets were completed in June 2022.
In 2023, the first chalets were renovated and the Hotel Jagdhaus was redesigned and renovated. In the autumn of the same year, the new reception and lobby area were built.
